today in bio we took our heart rates using an ecg machine, it read that my heart beats 60 bpm, everybody else in the class who I talked to had at least 75 bpm, is there something wrong with me?? I am pretty athletic, but does being athletic have that much effect on how many times per minute your heart beats?

Actually, the lower your bmp, the better!
It means your body dosn't have to work that hard to perform everday tasks,
so your in better shape than the rest of your class!

and yes, being athletic DOES make a big difference in bmp!

The fact that you're athletic does have an effect; your heart is in good shape, and beats slower due to you being at rest while getting the ECG. Congrats!

Yes, if you have good cardio then it means that your heart is strong and does not have to beat as many times a minute in order to properly circulate your blood.

If you find your heartrate drops below 60 bpm then you might want to consult a Dr.
