barefoot on a dirty school floor? What for?

School was well before my barefooting days but we all went barefoot in PE. Wasn't particularly dirty though, at least I don't recall it being dirty.... not that I think I'd have paid particular attention to whether it was, wasn't then nor am I now a clean freak, nor do I have a 'thing' with black soles. Sometimes my feet are pretty clean, sometimes they're pretty dirty, I wipe my feet when I go inside, and unless I have to visit some place nice I rarely check them in great detail.
Barefoot PE is the norm here in the Netherlands and guess what, kids don't have a lot of foot fungus! :)
