Well my parents were heterosexual and guess what, I'm not.

Your question is dishonest and intellectual vacuous, please try a more constructive or at least honest question.

Thanks for playing.

I don't understand how a child with homosexual parents will turn out gay. Surely the majority of homosexual individuals in the world have come from secure, safe and heterosexual homes. That heterosexual home didn't stop that individual being homosexual! If you know what i mean.

I recently heard one man saying that he was against homosexual couples adopting because one homosexual couple mistreated their adopted child. I mean come on, that is no argument at all, the amount of sexual, emotional, mental and physical abuse that happens in heterosexual homes. At the end of the day, as long as the child is safe, secure and well brought up its own body will decide its sexuality, not its parents, what toys it plays with or what part of the world it lives in.

I also think that it will only make the child more open minded when it comes to other sensitive matters such as racism and sexism etc.

No. Sexual orientation is something something that you're born with, and has nothing to do with what the parents do. Every study done on this has shown there there are no differences in development between children raised by gay parents and those raised by straight parents. No differences in social or mental development, no effect on academic performance.

People who have a problem with gay people/gay marriage/gay adoption are people that are unable to adapt to a constantly changing world. They frequently adhere to belief systems that are equally unchanging. Fortunately, they won't be around forever, and studies also have shown that young people tend to have less of a problem with gays having equal rights. So, seeing that people seem to be getting more and more open minded with every generation, the problem will work itself out naturally given enough time. It's evolution, baby!

It's sexual preference will be decided by the little one when it is grown or growing up.
Just because a baby has two Mom's or two Dad's doesn't mean the little will be gay.
Let's not forget, the first part of your question was about adopting a child, which says to me, it will have none of your blood flowing through its veins, just in case you thought homosexuality was genetic, it's not.

The child's sexuality isn't determined by whether or not his/her parents are a homosexual couple. I guess the child will eventually know on his/her own when she matures.

There's the outside chance that a child will be affected by the role models it sees around him/herself. Whilst there's no absolute proof that being gay is already determined before birth, nor is it proven that environment can alter perceptions. It would be incumbent upon a gay adopting couple to ensure that the child is not unduly influenced by the parental sexualities and preference. As the child matures, it should be free to explore its own sexuality and make decisions that are independent of his/her parents.

The same as any other person. Just becasue you are cared for by a gay couple (lesbian or gay) Makes no affect on a child being bought up in this world. Most important thing is that the child is loved and given the best start in life. It will not affect their sexuality. Do gay men or women come from gay parents?????? NO

If there is no influence from the parents the child will be what they want to be.
Just think, homosexuals are only recently becoming parents, so why have so many heterosexual couples produced all these homosexual people to start with?

He/she could be either homosexual, heteroexual or bisexual. The sexuality of the parent does not mean the child will be the same.

If you think about it, you get heterosexual parents having a homosexual/bisexual child. So why does it mean if a child has homosexual parents it will affect the sexuality of their child.

They will just be more likely to understand homosexuality more.

Whatever the child is born with. God makes LGBT people, and straight people, exactly as they are. Neither is "better" than the other.

It's the same thing that applies when parents, LGBT or straight, give birth to a child - their natural sexual orientation is inborn, not dependent on the sexual orientation of the parents. Look how many LGBT people came from straight parents!

It's not to do with upbringing, but a section of the brain, so the child will develop his or her own sexuality no matter who brings him/her up. However, the child will probably be a lot more tolerant of gay couples than some people you encounter in life and online.
