With any version of windows, you can always get to the registry by going to the Run Menu and typing in "regedit". you can also do this by going to a dos prompt and typing in "regedit"
A WORD OF CAUTION!!!
this is dangerous territory, best left to experienced users and technicians, if you don't know what you're doing, you can seriously mess up the way windows works and acts. you may even make mistakes and not know it.
DON'T make changes to your registry until you've made a backup that can be loaded from floppy or CD beforehand.
I can't take responsibility for that kind of negligence.
On some websites, they offer tips on changing the registry, so you can speed up windows a bit, try them at your own risk, and always make a backup beforehand, so if it doesn't work, you can restore it to normal. ( I know this from personal experience, since I did this once, and after I was done, I had it messed up so bad, even the RUN menu wouldn't come up, I had to reinstall windows, and lost all my data in the process)
Hope this helps somewhat!

Just click on start, run, and type "regedit" in the box without the quotes, and click okay.
