There's actually a couple of things to do / bear in mind when clearing history items.
1) Do you want to clear off the ENTIRE history of items you've looked at, or just the odd one / two "select" sites? If it's the whole lot, then go to Tools / Internet Options and then Clear History. If it's individual sites, then you need to click on the history button on the toolbar (or press Ctrl-H) to bring up the history "tree" (with various dates / date ranges and sites visited on those dates). Find the item that you want to delete in there, right click on it and select Delete from the menu.
2) After you've done that, you may notice that the item STILL appears in the URL when typing. This will happen if you've typed the name of the site in the address bar (or from Start / Run) without searching for the site in a search engine such as Yahoo / Google. If this is the case, then you need to clear it from the MRU list in the registry. Do do this:
* Start the registry editor (click on Start, select Run and type Regedit.exe and press enter)
* From the tree in the left, expand the following - HKEY_Current_User / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Explorer / RunMRU
* In the right hand panel, locate and highlight the line with the address that you no longer wish to be seen and press the delete key on the keyboard.
* Press OK to the confirmation message.
The item that you're not wanting to be seen is now removed completely from the list.
I've had quite a few personal embarrassing experiences myself so learned this one the hard way ;-)

I agree with Trooper - its hard to beat his post. The only difference is I'm not sure floating down the river denial is good enough. You cannot avoid all perils in life with a dog - so those that choose to own one, realize comes with responsibility and that means training, and vet care. My (less than eloquent thoughts)....you are negligent. The dog demonstrated she needed training years ago. And you did nothing. Get help. NOW. A dog that lunges on lead is hardly new, in fact 99% of them do it. The fact your dog does not react aggressively off lead tells me its YOU - your handling skills - that have built suspicion in the dog. The dog is reacting to messages you are sending it. Its easily fixed with proper training. You are the one that needs help - once you understand what you are doing wrong, the dog will respond in kind. As far as people -who the hell comes in a strange persons house and hugs a dog? And snapping is hardly a reason to kill a dog. Good grief, what do you expect the dog to do, send the person an email. IT IS A DOG. It cannot communicate in any other way. There are degrees here that cannot be known without being there - but biting and snapping is contextually two very different things. . I have to assume its not an aggressive action - or you would have been sued by now. It suggests (again) to me the dog is exhibiting behaviour typical of a dog - but your mother refuses to acknowledge her role in preventing it. Take ownership of the dog and educate yourself. Get informed. Get help. PS: Vets are hardly the people to ask about behaviour. They are medical doctors. Period. And even the odd one that does know something doesn't hang out on YA giving free advice to people without even seeing the dog. So, to answer your question: if you or your Mom refuse to spend a nickle on this dog to train, treat or otherwise care for - then give the dog up -admitting its likely a death sentence by proxy or kill it. But if you kill it - know it is your fault, and you are not a competent dog owner and should not ever own another dog. ************************** ETA: My oldest dog is frail, and in pain. And if you hugged him he would snap at you too. Even as a young dog, he did not tolerate close contact - it was his nature. I don't let people aggravate my dog and when people enter my home, my dogs are in the kitchen , either crated, or behind a baby gate. Its easy. Which begs another question- when was the last time the dog was seen by a vet? Do you know the dog is not in pain, or suffering from some physical ailment? Hypothyroidism is a common problem in many dogs and it can make a dog cranky. So much can be resolved with some effort, time, and a bit of money. Dogs are work.

either you delete your history folder from tools drop down menu or unplug the p.c. when you have finished using it and that will certainly loose any files viewed in that episode as it won't have shut down properly . only problem , it takes longer to boot up next time , if i were you , just be honest with the wife/girlfriend/parent and leave it at that . you see i can only see advantages of the history helping unless you have been looking at something you shouldn't and then there are still ways of catching you 'cos it doesn't really go anywhere , it is still accessable by anyone with a little know how . good luck .
