I made a total of $3120.00 dollars for the whole year. I am 18. I know that there is a min amount of money needed to live at about $11,000.00. How do they calculate the tax return.? i live with my mom.

Form 1040 EZ for you and mark that someone else is claiming you as a dependant since you live with your mom.
Front side is income , back side is deductions but you will probably not have any . . .
$3128 is about $313 in taxes . . .

& FYI : the amount of $$ needed to live is never factored in.

If you still live with mom, you would get a lot more money back, if you let her claim you, and your income, because it is under 3300, which is the max you can make for your parents to be able to claim you.

use turbo tax its a great program. They walk you through it
