I don't think that it is rude not to. When I first started Yahoo Answers, I didn't know how to contact the person who gave me the ten points. I do like to thank them now. If they have an accessible email address.

a BA is a small gift of appreciation for your effort (that is, by answering). when one gives you a gift, is it polite to thank them, no matter how small the favor? a simple "thx" will do, but i often think of something nice to say to that person in return.

I usually do.However,it seems the nicer I try to be,the ruder everyone else is to me.So,I have stopped doing it.
