In my essay i've already discussed only ENERGY problem. Can anyone suggest me any other problems on Earth and possible solutions offered by Moon colonisation. Thank you!

Presumably you've already talked about mining He-3 on the moon when we develop fusion reactors.

I would say the other benefits are two-fold. First, exploring and setting up bases on the moon will act as what is called a "technology driver." Briefly this means we will have to do a lot of basic things under very challenging conditions--and the solutions to those problems will be useful in providing solutions here on earth. The space program is, next to the military, the est such "technology driver" we have. A lot of the technology that goes into modern medicine and computers came from the space program--just to name two of many examples. Point being that setting and meeting such challenges pays off in very concrete (though sometimes unpredictable) ways.

The other possible benefit of the moon is as a source of raw materials for space industries. This is longer term--but the idea is tha **** fairly easy to lift off from the lunar surfacte into lunar orbit and from there travel back to earth orbit. And that translates to less expensive. So, even though its much further away from the earth orbits space industry will be using, it could easily prove to be a relative cheap source of raw matierals.

You want to know what service the Moon might provide to Earth? First off and most important is to become a nuclear junk yard. The Moon could do that for us. Fights have been going on here for years and years over where to locate nuclear waste dumps.

As far as setting up some kind of colony on the Moon... I am
laughing out loud. Heck, we can't even feed the people we have here on Earth, much less live in peace with them. Before we start spending billions of dollars on a project like that wouldn't you want to wipe out AIDS and CANCER and Altzimers Disease?
Before you colonize the Moon wouldn't you want to set up a colony in the Sudan?

Looking to the Moon to solve problems on Earth is lunacy.

-Less gravity on the moon will make some heavy industry more efficient.
-Easier to launch space missions from the moon than the earth
-Boost the economy (maybe?)

thats all i got, sorry.

Overcrowding. 70% of the Earth's surface is covered in water, so building habitable colonies on the moon will give us more room to house people.

using the moon won't help us. Transportation costs too high
