The quality does seem to have gone way down hill, but we've grown up too so maybe what appealed to us then just doesn't now?

They don't make them like they used to, do they? It is all noisy cartoons, whether British, Japanese or American, utterly lacking in charm. Bring back The Flumps, Willo The Wisp and Smallfilms productions. It isn't children who dictate what programmes are shown, young children nowadays would appreciate the programmes you and I remember, they just aren't trendy enough for the television executives, who don't know the meaning of the word "charm".
I totally agree with you about Chucklevision, they were appalling and unfunny when they first appeared, and now they are a lot older they are rather sinister as well.

I live in the United States and have not heard of some of the shows you are talking about but I can tell you that here, there are so many stations that you can usually find something along the lines of what you are looking for. I am raising two of my seven grandchildren and we are big NOGGIN fans. I don't know if you get that channel where you are but they are educational type shows for toddlers.
Unfortunately, as times change so do the television programs. I wish Pinwheel House was still on. My daughters loved that show. Or how about Fragel Rock. But alas, these shows have fallen by the wayside and have been replaced by others.

I think that they have had to move with the times. But I say bring back programmes like: Rentaghost, Captain Caveman, Crackerjack, Hong Kong Phooey, Mighty Mouse, Dangermouse and so on. Childrens classics. They might re-emerge one day but the only problem is they will be digitally enhanced and it's just not the same!

I hate Chucklevision! Those guys make me cringe. Don't know your age, but I used to watch programmes like PlaySchool, How-To.....and Jackonary. Another good programme was The Queens Nose. However, kids programmes are like Junk TV....quick to make, easy to forget. There are too many young presenters who are obviously not interested in making the programme interesting for kids, and are only in in for the money! lol

I was thinking the same thing too. I remember when I was a kid...The only live action show I would watch on Saturday morning was the Power Rangers. (Ok ok I'm not that old...I'm still 17 lol) But if you look at tv shows now, theyre either over the top or just plain stupid!

This is a country with no faith, no religion, on the wings of alcohol and the capital of Europe in all the drugs, here there is only space for paying taxes and paying taxes so the rest can still enjoy the crazy life they have, if you want tv for children my friend, such a simple thing, you have to pay for cable.

i think childrens television is very bad what child or teen wants to watch inspector Morse for goodness sake or over grown chefs cooking! The Price Is Right????????????
ITV only dedicates one hour how pathetic is that?
I am adult but did like many of the children's programmes far more better than adult ones.lol
