Be suse you turn off electricity to the vent before trying to remove it. Turn on the light, then switch off fuses until the light goes out.
Removal
Almost always there are four bolts/screws holding it up.
They can be found by bending over the stove and looking straight up under the vent hood. Usually they are in keyhole slots, so you loosen the screws a couple of turns, then slide the hood towards the large end of the slot, where the screw heads will pass through, and then bring it down.

there are usually two screws into the cabinet above the hood, most likely into the face frame. there should be a couple more at the back, either to the sides or top. hope this helps, good luck.

Is there cabinets surrounding it? If so then most are bolted into the top cabinet and possibly the side ones, otherwise thru the back.I have heard of some actually being liquid nailed between cabinets, but check inside the cabinets first.
