Religion is the answer in most cases.

I think you'll find the number of people that disapprove of gay marriage is thankfully steadily declining, forming a collective answer from ANY sort of internet forum probably won't give you an accurate answer as many people on here are highly opinionated and seek out the opportunity to express there opinions without being challenged.
I think the vast majority of AUSTRALIANS are fairly laid back in there beliefs and don't really care what other people do!

Unfortunately the bible still uses fear to control and dictate how the "authors" thought people should live their lives 2000 years ago, my housemate has a book from the 50's on how a housewife should behave, speak and cook to keep her husband happy, its hilarious! See the connection............

Good luck with your paper!

Many people disapprove of Gay mariages because of religion. Actual bindings of marriage is about religion. In most cultures, marriage is suppose to be between a man and a woman by definition. However, in this case there is not. Thus causing much disapproval. People feel it is breaking the rules. For people less insightful of the matter, it is considered different and different is not often welcome.

In my mind, there's a difference between gay relationships and gay marriage.

If a person is a practicing homosexual, I would see those behaviors as immoral, but not any more immoral than heterosexual sex outside of marriage. I don't go around telling heterosexuals what to do in their own homes, and I wouldn't tell a homosexual what to do either.

But, when they decide to marry, they are asking for the blessing of the State. The state is you and me. I can't go along with legitimizing something I think is immoral.

I dont disapprove of gay marriages at all..To be honest i think its kinda weird BUT if 2 people of the same sex love each other and want to get married thats their choice. Its NOBODYS business and their NOT hurting anybody by doing this so let them do what they want and i think the goverment should stay out of it too.

Most disapprove because 1. its un-natural , since well a man and a woman are suppose to be together to reproduce 2. it does go against the bible and states clearly that man should not lay with man ect..

It goes back to the bible...God made Adam and Eve...not Adam and Steve...it is against everything society believes in, we were taught that we were born, raised and educated, sent off in the world to reproduce and multiply, carrying on the generations then we retire and die. Personally I see nothing wrong with gay relationship any more than racial relationship. Look how long it took for society to recognize mixed marriages, eventually we will all others.

I don't disapprove of the relationships. They should not be married. They can call it "civil unions" or something. I think people disapprove of it because it clearly states in the bible that it is wrong. But I have known some "Christians" who disapprove of gay relationships but cheat on their wives.

People disapprove cause they think it's gross. I don't care what they do. I think EVERYONE has the right to marry who they want! It should be legal in every state. Why is it our business - we don't have to sleep with them! And it's sad how people accept women with women - but men with men is soo wrong. People need to worry more about there lives then try to judge. That's what's wrong with this country - we only come together when something bad happens like 9-11.............there's too much hatin' going on.

I disaprove of it because God did not create sex to be between a man and a man or a woman and a woman. Sex was created by God to be between a man and a woman AFTER they are married.

Homosexuality is sick, perverted and wrong. And God detests it. It says in the Bible that a man should not have sex with a man, and can be interpreted as a woman shouldn't have sex with a woman either.

Homosexuality is imoral, and is a sin. And in God's eyes can not and will not be justified.

The practice of homosexuality is destructive to the human soul and God gave His warnings about this in the Bible. Supporting gay marriage is a sin because it means to support homosexuality. If a nation legalizes gay marriage, that nation will be cursed.

Iniquities (sinful tendencies) pass down the generation line if they are not removed by the Blood of the Lord Jesus. Homosexuality is caused by iniquity and the Blood of Jesus cleanses the iniquities of all who accept Him as their Saviour.

After a person accepts the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, they are transformed and made a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). So the gay person would be changed and so would the alcoholic, liar, drug addict, fornicator etc. It's the power of the Blood of Christ and the Holy Spirit in the believer that brings about this transformation.

REDEMPTION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH

Because mankind is incapable of meeting God’s standard of perfection necessary to abide in God’s presence (Romans 3:19-20,23), God sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the total debt for the believer’s sins and mercifully credits to his account Christ’s righteousness (Romans 3:21-28,5:1-11; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21). Jesus’ gracious act of atonement was complete and covers all sin (Colossians 2:13-14; 1 John 1:9). Salvation is not based on good deeds but according to the mercy of God (Titus 3:4-5). Believers are justified by faith; it is a gift by God’s grace (Romans 4:3-8; Ephesians 2:8-9). A true, living faith will result in a desire to live a holy, loving life of good works (Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 5:6; James 2:14-26), but failure to be absolutely successful at righteous living does not negate the believer’s justified status.

If you sincerely say this prayer, your sins will be washed away, you will be redeemed to God, be saved from eternal torment and inherit the Kingdom of God:

"Dear Jesus,

I am a sinner.
I repent of my sins.
Please forgive me and save me by your shed blood;
come into my heart.
I want to receive you as my own personal Lord and Savior.

Amen"
