My husband and I have been thinking about starting a family in the next 2 years. Currently we are in a apartment and we have started cleaning up our credit. What else should we do to begin this home buying process?? Is there a homebuying timeline with step by step methods???

Thank you!!

1st, find out if you qualify for a mortgage on your income and how much.
2nd.start looking at properties in that price band to see what you can afford.
3rd remember you need a deposit(usually a minimum of 5% of the asking/agreed price) check on solicitors fees etc and make sure you have that amount saved up.
4th.try not to get into a "chain" as it can be very stressful if things fall through.
good luck

find a city with good school. start looking around...make friends with an agent. see if one of your relative is an agent so you don't have to pay too much commission :D learn everything about house buying...like what type of roof is good, what kind of pipe is good, is there signs of termite, how's their lawn, carpet or wood floor, house, condo, pud, or townhouse..... stuff like that

go to open houses. it's much like buying a car. except this is a investment. your house value will and should go up in value in time.

wish u good luck
