so i fixed the trans and got a new one and it seems like it still is not shifting right.....it is automatic........when i got it back from the mechanic after repairs ........i drove it home and at every stop light and stop sign it would die and completly shut off....................it is a battery or a possible charge pipe or something else......now it is sitting in my driveway completly dead.......................

also any ideas on how i can make it faster once i get it running would be great....it's already turbo

why didnt you bring it back to the mechanic?? he had to test drive the car when he changed the tranny. battery wouldnt make it die . there is a turbo chip that will give a little more power let a pro install it. as for the stalling he shouldnt have given the car to you that way. i am a tech and i wouldnt have let you take it if it wasnt right

first of all take it back to the shop and do what the other guys said, but for the speed don't change the turbo.. well at least not yet. Becaue the guy up there obviusly dosen't know what hes talking about. I have a 1997 Eclipse GSX and before i changed the turbo i did other things to it. Because the car can get up to to300Hp with out changing the turbo. Right now mine is 450 Hp but thats because i did so much to it. Plus your car is Atuo so thats not going to be as easy as if it was stick. Also it wouldn't be as fast. Well good luck ang definatly go back to that mechanic and get ur money back then go to a pro.

Im not really sure if your mechanic is the most suitable person to make any repairs on your car. Like shadows506 said, your mechanic should have test drived the car before giving the car keys back to you. Something is wrong with the transmission which is making your car stall. He either didnt tighten something properly or over tightened it. I would try to speak with him to either refund your money or get it fixed properly. My advice is to always take it to real pro. It might seem cheaper to take it to a cheaper mechanic shop but you'll get cheaper service as well.
