I am just wondering because we have alot power hitters now. Will JD Drew bat 6th and Helton 5th? I don't know. Do you think it is a good trade?

I'd put him in the #2 slot. Batting in front of Ortiz, he'll get quality pitches to hit, and with a productive lead-off slot, pitchers have to worry about surviving to the #6 slot.

My batting order:

1. Lugo
2. Helton
3. Ortiz
4. Ramirez
5. Drew
6. Youkilis
7. Veritek
8. Pedroia
9. Crisp - I like a speedster in the 9 hole to reset the line-up.

You could put Crisp in the 2 slot to have to speed guys up front, in which case I'd put Helton into the #5 slot and push everyone down. My only fear is that he has less protection batting in front of Drew than he does in front of Ortiz.

What? Do my eyes decieve me? Mike Lowell, and Tavarez, for Todd Helton? Sure Helton's a great player, but Tavarez was great in the starting role, and could be used in case of an injury. And Mike Lowell, he's a better fielder, hands down, so what if Helton's a better hitter. The Red Sox need defence, and that's why the deal will fall through. Besides, if the Rockies give up as much talent such as Todd Helton, and only get Lowell, that just doesn't mke sence.

The team probably wouldn't put Helton in the 2-hole b/c they want to stagger the righties and lefties. He's more likely to bat as low as 7th to put some space between him and Drew with Varitek batting in between them.

My lineup (assuming the team trades Lowell to get him)

1) Lugo
2) Youk
3) Papi
4) Manny
5) Drew
6) Tek
7) Helton
8) Coco
9) Pedroia

This would be better for Helton too, b/c it doesn't put the pressure on him or his back that he had in Colorado by giving him less at-bats, but keeping his potent bat in the bottom half of the lineup to keep the high-powered offense rolling from top-to-bottom. Sox are scary if they get him...scary!

I don't know if it would be like this, but this is what I think it should be:

1. Julio Lugo (SS)
2. JD Drew (RF)
3. David Ortiz (DH)
4. Manny Ramirez (LF)
5. Todd Helton (1B)
6. Kevin Youkilis (3B)
7. Jason Varitek (C)
8. Coco Crisp (CF)
9. Dustin Pedroia (2B)

I put Drew at second in the order because he's a good on-base guy (like Youk) and he's faster. Plus, I think Youkilis strikes out way too much to bat that high in the order.

Go Sox! Let's hope for a good year in '07.

Helton isn't some thing particular anymore, seem at his stats the merely correct few years, he's on the decline. assume A-rod to have a strong 3 hundred and sixty 5 days with Doug (dont recognize a thanks to spell his very last call) before each and every thing saving many throws. I woudn't criticize any of the strikes Cashman made, he were given very strong important league waiting skills. The pitching rotation is so deep i'm hoping various the yankees starters get damage so i am going to exhibit screen a number of those youthful adult males carry out. each and every of the question marks you tagged on the Yankees the pink Sox have a lot of hte similar issues. Is Matsuzaka going to be able to make the transition? Is Schilling starting up his downfall? Will Beckett strengthen a change up so hitters dont sit on his fastball? Does Manny want to be in Boston? Is Drew's shoulder healthy and is he the answer to hit in the back of Ortiz and Ramirez? have they were given a closer? Will Papelbon be a strong starter? each and every thing is concept, if i have been you i might want to easily wait till the season begins so that you've an concept of ways strong those communities are, i trust they play 2 sequence adverse to at least one yet another in april. And Crime dogs you're telling me this line up does no longer lite up the pink sox rotation? Damon Jeter Abreu Giambi Rodriguez Matsui Posada Cano Doug M.

Lineup

1. Julio Lugo
2. Todd Helton
3. David Ortiz
4. Manny Ramirez
5. JD Drew
6. Jason Varitek
7. Kevin Youkilis
8. Coco Crisp
9. Dustin Pedroia

Rockies want Lowell, Tavarez, Hansen, and Delcarman for Helton+cash. I would lmao if the Sox pulled the trigger for that deal.
I really don't think Helton is significantly better for the line-up than Lowell.

I think Lowell did better than Helton last year but I would love to get rid of Tavarez so I would do the deal with Delcarmen thrown in there as well.
I think Helton would bat second with Youkalis 6th.

Helton lost his power, and he lost it a coors field. If he cant hit home runs in colardo, how is he gonna hit them over tyhe green monster? I think helton is old and past his prime. Bad move for the redsox.
