How can affair be claimed as a mistake?

The question should read. How can one have an affair, and after being caught it's consider as a mistake?

People say it was a mistake when they have no good answer, as a society we are told to forgive mistakes.

Great question.Heres a great answer also.I think of a mistake as making a wrong turn in traffic or forgetting to pick up a jug of milk at the store.Believe me it ain't no mistake when someone consciously drops their pant and starts screwing like two dogs in heat just because they were missing something at home.It's no mistake that they are out doing this and they have a family at home waiting for this person to come home.I'm sorry but the mistake excuse just don't cut it in my book.Anyone that defends another person that has done this by saying they made a mistake is no better than the cheater.I know this all sounds like a bad attitude but it's true.To many people use this excuse just so they can slip one by their partner until next time.

Mistakes are something that you did not mean to do and are sorry for. Like breaking a dish.Having an affair means that you did it more than once. Were you sorry every time? Affairs are a choice that people make.

Usually if a person has an affair to begin with he/she has very little, if any, integrity. I think that he/she cries that he/she is sorry and that it was a mistake when they get caught. Or when the person they had an affair with doesn't want them any more.

Having an affair is not a mistake. It's an action that calls for a decision. Apparantly a decision was made to do the wrong thing. Mistakes are done unknowingly.

Definition of a mistake is a wrong action or decision...so I guess an affair if the decision to have one was wrong then it would be considered a mistake...
There is the right to forgive a mistake or not...your right!

Of course it's an mistake after you are caught, but answer me this did she just fall on the **** an dit pop inside her or did he just fall into her? It is not an mistake any affair is not an mistake,lol

you are right an affair is not a mistake at all.. I dont see how people can call it such. It is a choice to cheat and be unfaithful so it is an act of the will and no mistake if you ask me.

an affair is a mistake but it is NEVER an accident. someone who has an affair does so willingly. and blowing it off as just a mistake is not taking responsibility for their actions.

What were the circumstances? Was it a one time thing when the spouse was getting ignored at home? Did they admit it to you? That scenario would be called a mistake. If you had to catch them and it happened more than once, then it was thought out and they made the conscious decision to do it. That unforgivable, not a mistake.
