Congratulations.

Please read the following before you naming your child:- -----

1. Whether you should or shouldn’t name your child after someone else depends on your wishes completely. Choose a name that is a derivation of the name of the person you wish to honor.

2. Think twice before you decide to name your child after a celebrity. When making your decision, take into consideration that it isn’t you but your child that has to keep the name and that he or she is from a different generation than you are.

3. If you decide to choose a popular name, don’t pick one of the top ten names of recent years.

4. Don’t let others talk you into giving your baby a certain name. No matter how eager your mother(in-law) is to have the child named after her, only do so when both of you are one hundred percent sure of that choice. A name lasts a lifetime. The choice should not be made in haste, and should be made by parents in the child’s best interests... not your mother-in-law’s or any other’s.

5. For each name you’re considering, ask yourself whether or not it could be used by bullies at school. On the other hand, almost any name can be made fun of by those who want to, so excess caution, but don’t let this be the sole deciding factor.

6. If the two of you have come up with a nice name, ponder the possible nicknames that could be derived from it. Is it a negative sounding nickname or a really obvious target for bullies?

7. It’s almost always possible to come up with a nickname that could be used in a negative way. Try to avoid names,
however, that inspire nicknames that are almost asking for teasing.

8. When it comes to a complicated and hard-to-spell name, it isn’t easy for a child to explain how it should be spelled all the time. It can be agonizing to see each new teacher struggling to write the name on the blackboard. In short: find a name for your child that you can actually spell if you hear it. That causes a lot less confusion when it comes to paperwork, too.

9. When choosing a name, be sure it’s one that’s easy to pronounce.

10. The same rule applies here: if you’re not sure whether a name is easy to pronounce, draw up a list of names, e-mail or read it to your family or friends. Then ask them if they have any
trouble with the pronunciation and spelling. Since there will be several names on the list, you won’t give away the name you’re thinking of.

11. As soon as you find a name that both of you like, check to see what it means. Try to avoid picking a name that has a negative meaning. There are naming books and websites where you can look up what a name means.

12. A child has to be happy and content with his or her name. Therefore, choose a name that
doesn’t sound too childish and don’t use a diminutive for an official name. That way, your child can be just as proud of his name as you are, even when he’s older.

If you are particular in asking a name still I suggest "Sai Saroj" meaning "lotus flower".

with best wishes.

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the "Sai" part. Do you mean that "Sai" should be the first syllable? Do you want to add on to "Sai"???
I work after my teaching job as an embroiderer/monogrammer, and all I can say is that Ava is the new "Brittney" and Ella is the new "Ashley". Isabellas are multiplying as we speak. Be creative and don't saddle your child with a name that will be impossible to spell/pronounce. As a teacher of 32 years, I have LOTS of experience in kids' names. I named my son "Lee". Got the picture??
