Why Yahoo Answers?

Question

Of course I probably can't pick the best answer for this one but who here (like me) does this for Kindness and not the points? Do you care about being Level 10 or helping a to save a child by telling the parent what to do when their temperature reached 106. Please tell the truth because I know that most people will usually go for points then saving a life or helping someone else with theirs. Thanks!

I answer questions because not only do other people help me with my problems and it's a way of paying it back, but also because I want to help other people with their problems as well. I could care less about the points, it's just another web-site as far as that goes. Points don't mean anything in life, but knowing that someone took comfort from your reply or had a genuine curiousity fullfilled is very satisfying on a human level.

I don't do it for the points. I admit, when I first started, I wanted to get to Level 2, but only so I could rate people. Some people give really bad answers, and I think they deserve thumbs down. On the other hand, some people have really great answers, and I wanted to give them thumbs up. After that, it has never been about the points. I help people, when I can, I usually avoid questions that I don't know the answer to. I also answer a lot of opinion questions such as political and religious questions. I help people find out the name of a song, a lot. For me I enjoy Y! A because it is interesting to see what other people in the world think. I like seeing others point of view as well as getting my opinion out there as well. and when I come across a help? question that I can help with, I do. :-)

I'm like you, I try to answer mostly questions of people who I think really need a good thoughtful answer.
