Because football gets you dirty, sloppy and smelly and shopping gets you food and clothing. Hasn't changed much since caveman days really.Men went out to hunt and get dirty and goof around while women picked out the best skins to wear, did the cooking, picked the best berries to eat and kept the fire burning. I rest my case Hon.

I believe that there is nothing genetic in us that says that a man has to love football and a woman has to love shopping. I honestly, unless I know what I am looking for, don't like shopping and although my husband enjoys socially watching the big game, he is not addicted to football or any other sport. I would have to say though that in today's society it is socially pressured for the woman to ask for the credit card at exactly 10:35 am on a Sunday and that the man distracted from watching the game with his buddies will end up giving it to her.
On the other hand though, if you look at what Football and shopping are, they do tend to fit our genetic makeup. A woman likes to take care of her family and part of that is having a comfortable home and comfortable clothes, so in order to obtain those things, she would have to go shopping. Football is all about a man being physically and mentally strong enough that he can beat another man at anything competitive and reach his goal, whether it is a raise at work, a promotion, or just reaching the other side of the field. So I guess to answer your question, the answer would have to both no and yes. I love football, but I love to know that my husband is well dressed with food in his belly. As far as the whole cave man scenario, you don't think there was a Macy's on the corner of T-Rex Avenue and Bones Boulevard?? : )

I'm a woman..and if I had to choose, I'd rather play football than go shopping..I absolutely hate shopping..!! Especially for clothes and shoes (imagine that??!!)..Put me in the hardware or electronic section of stores and I'm a happy camper!
So it's not ALL women who love shopping..
I know I'm in the minority..but there are other women like me out there...
