or more specifically the mafia. sure i like the show the sopranos, but in reality, why, WHY do they do that to their fellow italianos like me (more specifically italiana..but w/e) its a stigma.
..and why, in your opinion, are so many people just so freakin fascinated with the mob or anything that has to do with it! im sorry here, but for the rest of the world who work hard and are smart enough to have a vocation..ahh...sorry dont mean to rant.
its just frustrating, i know the worlds not fair, but when i observe it, it kills me inside. what do you think?

Even during the time of Lucky Luciano people found organized crime fascinating. Even rich people would hang out with him because of the lure of danger, etc.
They are a bad role model and symbol, but unfortunately for you, that stereotype is what Hollywood has found sells.
Kind of like Hitler for the Germans when there are very few real Nazis even still alive today.

I think you answered this yourself. You said "its just frustrating," "when i observe it, it kills me inside," "makes my blood boil," and most importantly, "i like the show the sopranos." You like the "Hollywood version" of the mob. You like to watch fictional character do things that you deeply desire to experience, but can never do. This is like asking why people watch so much porn, and why is porn so pervasive on the internet?

I know a lot of Italians and they are great people.
They are passionate, caring people, so hospitable.
But it's like everything, a few bad eggs spoil the whole bunch and give them a bad name.

Most of the time the people you are talking about help more people then they hurt.
