It can't make it through the Senate. You should listen to Kennedys speech to the Republicans. It is great. They won't pass the minimum wage unless they get some tax breaks for small business. This is a travesty. Rich Senators sitting up on the hill refusing to pass the minimum wage. What is the poverty level according to the government. Family of 4 on 18,000 a year.
I would love to see one of these Senators survive on his own with 18,000 dollars a year. Its just pathetic.

the government could have no say by any skill on wages. Your pay could be desperate between you and your enterprise. in case you ask for too lots, the enterprise can come to a determination to not hire you. If the enterprise won't pay sufficient (what many call a "residing salary") you are able to seek for artwork with somebody else. the tip outcomes of increasing minimum salary are inflation and bigger unemployment between those on the backside of the pay scale. think of in the event that they raised the miniumum salary to $a thousand according to hour. people who did not be responsive to how economics artwork might think of "Oh goodie, i visit be prosperous!" until eventually they have been laid off as a results of fact their enterprise could not arise with the money for to pay them that lots.

The way things keep seesawing, maybe not for a long time yet. If minimum wage goes up, don't expect more than $6/hr., because it will probably be less.

When it does increase, so does the price of groceries, gas, utilities, and everything required to live. So what will you gain? Here is a website that will answer your question and for any state in the USA.

As soon as Congress is through giving themselves raises, maybe they will have time to think of us.
