First, if they're Syrian hamsters, they all need to be caged separately.
Since you want care tips beyond the basics, I suggest that you visit the California Hamster Association's website. There's a newsletter page with articles of different tips and even one on making a playground.

If you want some tips that I use, I'll be happy to share them with you. First, during the winter months they should received additional heat unless your house is reasonably warm. Syrian hamsters can hibernate at only 60 degrees. A hibernating hamster looks like a dead hamster, they're fooled several expert breeders, including myself. I use a space heater to warm the room their in but you could put a heating pad under one half of their cage (never under the whole cage, they need to be able to move off of it if they get too hot). I heat my hamster rooms to 72-74 degress.
Give them some variety in their diets. Anything healthy for you is healthy for them. Make sure that a few hours after you give them some foods you take out the uneaten parts so they go bad. One thing I love to give my hamsters is a bit of peanut butter and honey smeared into the bottom of a baby food jar (though you could use a larger jar). They get so messy it's funny. You can use the jar to give them yogurt or cottage cheese. They love scrambled eggs and cucumbers. The list goes on and on. I've never tried a peanut butter smeared pine cone but I bet they'd have fun with that too.
Give them plenty of cardboard tubes and boxes to chew up and explore. I have access to the thick tubes used for 36" paper rolls. I then saw them down to six 6" tubes that I can give the hamsters. It takes them longer to get through those. Just contact an engineering, surveying or archtecture company near you and see if they will give you their tubes (they usually just throw them away).

You should give them some type of wood(whatever it is they sell at the store) to chew on otherwise their teeth will get to big and they will stop eating. I recommend cleaning their cage once a week otherwise they can get mad if you clean it too often. When you clean it make sure to put some of their bedding to the side to keep because hamsters don't like the clean cage smell. A good treat for them are those blueberry and peach special k bars...if you crumble them up and add it to their food ever so often they will really like you. You don't want to bathe them because they can die from it. They clean themselves. If you want to groom them use a small soft pet brush. Make sure they have a plastic run wheel because their feet can get caught in the wire ones(excercise is very important) or get them some motorcycles or pet cars they sell at pet stores(my hamsters just love them). Also you can get them one or two of those edible huts they love to sleep or store food in them. I don't know if you've tried potty training(I did) but I don't think it works and since they like to eat their poop I wouldn't bother with it.

feed your hamster all sorts of healthey food. I have 2 favourite hamsters, and im a hamster breeder. let your hamster try all sortes of vedggies, but remember, DONT FEED IT CHOCOLET. change your hamster's 'bathroom' everyday, and give it fresh water and food. if it didn't finish the food, just sprinkle new food over it. like seeds and stuff. I buy seeds from the pet store, they have a smecial sence of smell that hamsters like. also, if your hamster has a watery eye, or a runny nose, and its a sunday or you cant take it to the vet. make sure you have vitamin drop with you.
follow the instuction on the vitamin drop instuctions. drop about 2-3 drops of vitaming drop in to a hamster bow.
once, when i was breeding my pair of teddy bear hamsters, the started fighting, and i wasn't around! the female hamster bite the male's neck open a little, it was seriouse hurt, i gived it vitamon drops, and eye drops on its neck, and after several weeks, it healed.
always handy to have medicin ready.
dont forget to put each one in seprate cages, they wont get in to fights that way.
well, wish you luck, and have the healthest, and cutest hamster ever. ^^

no pine or cedar bedding as they release phenols which are toxic to rodents.
