C. like all the other cells, every tissue have different functions because of the genes that are activated in it

Well, to really answer your question you have to know how cells work. Each cell is specific to the type of organ or system they make up. It isn't that they are different genes, it's that they are different types of cells. Keratin is also found in skin cells, and finger and toe nails. Keratin is part of what makes up your skin color. DNA has nothing to do with the type of cell it is. DNA is what makes you you, but it can be found anywhere in the body. They can take the hair follicle, that has the root attached and a whole host of tests to give them not only your identity, but also your DNA make-up. It can tell you if you have a genetic disorder, or may have a problem with a genetic disorder. It can tell you almost everything about what makes up you. Interesting side note: You hair root is very much alive, as is your hair. They say that hair is dead cells, it isn't. Once that root is pulled out, hair won't grow in the follicle anymore, or will take longer to grow. That's why waxing works for so long, and why using a laser works. Anyways, just thought I would clear up a few things and add an interesting tid-bit.
