I had gone to my Module leader for the thesis/dissertation and he had said that my topic was too broad and so I think I have narrowed it down:- What do you think? still too broad?

Topic:

'How a brand can be a global brand but still have national strategies: Studying the strategy adopted by Levis in different markets'

Objectives:

* Explore the marketing strategy implemented by Levis in the UK compared to the USA.
* Evaluate the link between brand personality and the marketing strategy.
* Identify how well is the present strategy working.

This has to be submitted on 23rd February- the proposal for the Thesis I mean. I will make an appointment with the module leader once again end of this week, so please give me some feedback before.

Thanks

yes I am writing a dissertation. However in India they do not understand dissertation and call everything Thesis, hence I mentioned Thesis as well.

What is the overall scope and objective of the thesis? That is, is this a senior thesis for a BS in marketing or a master's thesis in an MBA program, or is this for a doctoral dissertation?

You could write a lot on this topic depending on the depth and focus of your research. Are you looking to put together thirty pages or three hundred? Are you going to look at the evolution of the marketing strategy since they first started advertising in each country, or are you going to limit yourself to a set span of time - say the last ten years?

Your adviser can give you the best input. My other suggestion would be to go to the library and browse through some other theses that have been done for this particular program of study. Seeing successful theses will give you a very concrete sense of how to frame your research problem and also allay some of your apprehension about the task before you.

Best of luck to you.

Dissertation and Thesis are two different brands of documents; I have performed two Masters' thesis and my Ph.D. Dissertation. In any event...I need more information from you to help you with your topic. I assume this is for your Master's degree...if so...your professor is correct. But don't be disheartened...I'm sure you have all of the information you need. If you like...e-mail me at doced53@yahoo.com and tell me what is your main interest. After all...you have pleanty of writing to do and you want to at least be interested...as well as have sufficient resource to complete the paper.

This doesn't sound like a dissertation! A thesis yes = they are NOT the same.
