I have a cat, a hamster, a rabbit, a ferret and I just got a little dog. I have them all over the house in different pens/ cages. I think that it is time to give the rabbit to a good home. It is too cold to have them outside.

For those who suggested to get rid of the dog since it was the last to enter my home. I found the dog in the middle of the street! It wasn't my intention to add another animal. But... I have to find a solution.

Because the Humane Society usually deals with cats and dogs, they will have a very difficult time placing your rabbit. Put an add in a couple of publications such as (if you have one in your area) "Penny Saver" and your local paper. Also try putting a listing on www.craigslist.com .

Contact your local House Rabbit Society. You can also look to see if you have a local Rabbit Breeders Club. A lot of those people will help with a rescue.
In the future, don't be so quick to accept new animals! They are a committment, not a disposable commodity.
Re: a rabbit dieing from the cold, If the rabbit has been in the house, it would be very hard on him to put him outside. But if a rabbit is acclimated to the outdoors, they do just fine. (God gave them a fur coat, and they've been living outside for thousands of years!) In all the years I've been breeding bunnies, I've never lost one to the cold... can't say the same about the summer heat! (They need to be protected from overheating.)

Good! At least you are responsible enough to find it a home! The rabbit would die from the cold! Make sure you find a home that will keep him in the house. Rabbits are as intelligent and are like cats and dogs! Good Luck!

I have a rabbit I need to get rid of, too. (My daughter's starting to crawl, and I'm afraid she'll mess with him and he'll bite her). I can't really help (which makes you wonder why I'm typing this up) but I can say that I put up several ads and never got responses, so of all the suggestions I would disregard that one. It doesn't really work so well for rabbits.
Actually, the suggestion for petfinder.com is VERY good. Give her best answer! I just found a home for mine in the eight minutes since I originally posted.

Maybe you shouldn't have just gotten a dog if you can't take care of the animals you currently have.
Take the rabbit to your local Humane Society.

I think its wrong. You should'nt of gotten that dog if you were getting rid of that bunny because you had the bunny first not the dog and the bunny loves you and will be confused when its in a new home. the dog could have gotten a home be for you met him. i feel sorry for the bunny. mayb you can give the bunny to a family member and i hope you do!!!!

Well, there's this guy on the Reptiles forum who needs to know what to feed his python...
Just kidding. Humane society is of course a good idea. You could also post a classified in the newspaper or on your local craigslist.com.

In my community, we have group that does rescue for pet rabbits. Look on petfinder.com and see if there is a similar group in your area who can find a new home for your bunny.
