I am the overweight one in our marriage and we love each other more than you can imagine! Overweight and healthy are two different things! I still exercise and take walks and try to make healthy meals. I am still attractive to my husband and he loves me to pieces! I take good care of my appearance. Overweight is not who you are, sweetie!

Because these people have never had a weight problem in their life and have no idea what it is like for these people.

I have never been overweight but whilst I was pregnant I put on 20 kilos with my daughter and saw how hard it was to do just normal day to day tasks. I have a new respect for people who are overweight as now I understand what a challenge it is.

People need to look deeper into a person and not judge them on their looks alone. Looks fade but personality will always be there!!

I think that most people view them as lazy and that they just eat like crazy regardless of the consequences. While some people are that way, I don't think all of them are. As long as someone tries to exercise and eat healthy, then you can't really fault them for being overweight. It's the ones that don't try that I don't feel sorry for.

But no, I wouldn't choose an overweight person as a partner. That's not attractive to me. But some people prefer that and that's their prerogative.

Well I'd prefer a slim girl myself. She doesn't have to be toned like a professional trainer but slimmish. it is a sign that she takes care of herself. But I don't go around treating overweight people as less than I do anyone else.

Also being overweight is unhealthy and really isn't a great thing, not in today's world where knowledge and information about proper methods to control ones health and weight is so freely available. No excuse for obesity unless its a medical condition.

Society has done this. They have perpetuated an unrealistic body image and made everybody think they have to fit that mold in order to be beautiful. I have no problem with overweight people. It is their heart and personality that attracts my attention, and makes me like them.

our society has lost substance, so people are often hollow and have nothing tangible or substantial to be proud of themselves about or to love themselves about, so they focus on the superficial, the external, the insubstantial. and in the process, it makes people feel better, reaffirms hopes they have about themselves being the best, or the most, to put others down. people try to distance themselves from what society deems bad or worth mocking, out of insecurity.

al gore said it best: " In a time of social fragmentation, vulgarity becomes a way of life. To be shocking becomes more important - and often more profitable- than to be civil or creative or truly original."

everyone wants to be somebody, but they neglect that they already are, if they would just invest in themselves. people try to construct themselves by being destructive of others.

As a former overweight individual I just wanna throw it out there that we're people too, and often since we can't rely on our looks, we rely on our wit, charm, and other such things. I'd totally date a fat person. And it generally means they know what foods are good... (I specialize in baked goods)

theres a different in being a little overwieght and obese. i dont know if anyone watched that "i eat 33,000 calories in a day" on tlc but...i found it throughly disgusting. i tend to think that morbidly obese people are selfish. They are killing themselves and most morbidly obese people have an addiction to food. a serious problem with it. most addicts to me are just plaint selfish.
