Interesting question... but I think the only true statistics that are available to such a question would be --- if anyone who drives a reliable car also has an expensive home.
The computer issue would be hard to tell.

Operating a vehicle is much different than operate a computer.
But either one relaxing your mind while operating it. Never know when a drunk driver might decide to go through a red lights or when install a new softwares on your Mac, wonder if its compatible and not freezing up ! Most American loves to spend money wisely, brand name, high costs but most of them really don't know why they needs it, they just want it!

I seriously doubt there is a statistically significant correlation. The difference in computors is probably closer related to what they were first introduced to and choice in profession (journalism Macs are next to required).

as long as it has headlight's, brakes, steering wheel. small gas tank, and will get you from point A to point B, what makes the difference.
