The EX models are considered top of the line, the only options you might add are a Nav System. Honda's and Toyota's are expensive compared to the traditional American manufacturers, but you'd have to weigh other factors such as reliability, safety, etc. Personally, I would not get a Civic EX, at that price you can get a decent Accord.

In a Honda, the EX usually adds an upgraded stereo, leather, power windows and doors and a moonroof.

the ex is one step down from the civic si, it has all power options that you could want, i have one and it is loaded including moonroof, upgraded stereo with sub, 16" alloy rims, disc brakes,everything
