Dear Maria,
if you love your husband give it a try to this marriage! Here is info about your husband problem.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence is a sexual dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis for satisfactory sexual intercourse regardless of the capability of ejaculation. There are various underlying causes, such as diabetes, many of which are medically reversible.

The causes of erectile dysfunction may be physiological or psychological. Psychological impotence can often be helped by almost anything that the patient believes in; there is a very strong placebo effect.

Due to its embarrassing nature and the shame felt by sufferers, the subject was taboo for a long time, and is the subject of many urban legends. Folk remedies have long been advocated, with some being advertised widely since the 1930s. The introduction of perhaps the first pharmacologically effective remedy for impotence, sildenafil (trade name Viagra), in the 1990s caused a wave of public attention, propelled in part by the news-worthiness of stories about it and heavy advertising.

The Latin term impotentia coeundi describes simple inability to insert the penis into the vagina. It is now mostly replaced by more precise terms.

Medical symptoms

Erectile dysfunction is characterized by the inability to maintain an erection. Normal erections during sleep and in the early morning suggest a psychogenic cause, while loss of these erections may signify underlying disease, often cardiovascular in origin. Other factors leading to erectile dysfunction are diabetes mellitus (causing neuropathy) or hypogonadism (decreased testosterone levels due to disease affecting the testicles or the pituitary gland).

Medical diagnosis

There are no formal tests to diagnose erectile dysfunction. Some blood tests are generally done to exclude underlying disease, such as diabetes, hypogonadism and prolactinoma. Impotence is also related to generally poor physical health, poor dietary habits, obesity, and most specifically cardiovascular disease such as coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease.

A useful and simple way to distinguish between physiological and psychological impotence is to determine whether the patient ever has an erection. If never, the problem is likely to be physiological; if sometimes (however rarely), it is more likely to be psychological. The current diagnostic and statistical manual of mental diseases (DSM-IV) has included a listing for impotence.

A wide variety of options exist for treating erectile dysfunction. They include everything from medications and simple mechanical devices to surgery and psychological counseling. The cause and severity of your condition are important factors in determining the best treatment or combination of treatments for you. You and your doctor may also want to consider how much money you're willing to spend and the personal preferences of you and your partner. If erectile dysfunction is the result of a medical condition, the cost of treatment may be covered by insurance.

Uncontroversial treatments

PDE5 Inhibitors
The prescription PDE5 inhibitors sildenafil (Viagra), vardenafil (Levitra) and tadalafil (Cialis) are prescription drugs which are taken orally. They work by blocking the action of PDE5, which causes cGMP to degrade. cGMP causes the smooth muscle of the arteries in the penis to relax, allowing the corpus cavernosum to fill with blood.

* Tadalafil (Cialis)
* Vardenafil (Levitra)

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Viagra in 1998, and it became the first oral medication for erectile dysfunction on the market. Since then, doctors have written millions of prescriptions for the blue, diamond-shaped tablets. But Viagra is no longer the only pill that treats this condition. Levitra and Cialis are two other options.

Viagra, Levitra and Cialis work in much the same way. Chemically known as phosphodiesterase inhibitors, these drugs enhance the effects of nitric oxide, a chemical messenger that relaxes smooth muscles in the penis. This increases the amount of blood and allows a natural sequence to occur — an erection in response to sexual stimulation. These medications don't automatically produce an erection. Instead they allow an erection to occur after physical and psychological stimulation. Many men experience improveme

There are many causes to premature ejaculation and every cause requires a different treatment depending on each individual's situation and preference as well. Sometimes premature ejaculation is due to an over-sensitive glans (skin of penis head). This reduces your ejaculatory control. At other times, it could also be a matter of psychology effect like stress, fear of poor performing. A weak PC muscles (muscles located between the anus and testicles) also causes premature ejaculation. Good news is premature ejaculation can be prevented and cured and there are many treatments out there. But to start off, it's advisable to resort to some safe, natural and proven methods which cure the problem from its root cause. I was once suffered from the same problem and that brought so much stress to me and my girlfriend (now my wife). I tried many different treatments including cream, pill and gel. But really healed me was some simple proven natural techniques including exercising my PC muscles, learning to monitor and control my level of sexual arousal, using last-longer sexual positions, correct breathing methods etc. I learned the hard way, but you really dont have to. Here is the free ebook where you can get a general idea of what premature ejaculation really is, its causes and how to treat premature ejaculation: ( http://prematurejaculation.kyma.info ) The fact is, you can really cure and control premature ejaculation in a matter of weeks, you just need the right information. Hope this helps.

Ehm..
There are many natural ways to cure premature ejaculation. A proven natural method can be found on this site http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=565

Recent polls have shown that the average length of intercourse is usually anywhere between 2 to 12 minutes. Most often those diagnosed with premature ejaculation climax in less than a minute or two, and there are even those who ejaculate before there is any sort of penetration. In all actuality, “too short” is really just a matter of opinion. The most important factor is if a man feels that he is unable to control his ejaculation and is frequently climaxing before he would like. Any man who feels that this is a problem for him may be suffering from some form of premature ejaculation.
Hope it helps.

You could see a lawyer and see about getting the marriage annulled since you didn't "do the deed"...

Anyway this sounds like a situation that makes a good case for sex before marriage...

If you want to stay in the marriage, see if you can get him to make an appointment with urologist. They deal with stuff like this every day.It would not be their first case or their last case either.

Since your marriage was arranged, I think you should talk to your mother... her marriage was probably arranged also an she might have some answers. I also think your dad would be interested in knowing that the man he picked for you had to have surgery for a problem that might keep him from having grandchildren. I have never known how it could be a woman's fault that a man can't do it so please whatever your husband says, don't take responsibility for his problems!!!!

I would go to www.webmd.com to do some preliminary research. This website also allows people to submit questions to doctors. Once you get some background information on the ED and the surgical affects, I would see about going to a doctor with him. Your goal, as a wife, is to learn the implications of his problem and what the both of you can do to make things a bit easier.

nhs direct, (www.nhsdirect.co.uk I think-or google nhs direct) or you can call them up and be put on hold?

You can ask them any questions the site wont answer but just a tip- if you even hint its about an unresolved problem, they wash their hands of you so try asking for help with an ALREADY DIAGNOSED problem. (diagnosed by a dr not by your mates!!)

Think on my own honest opinion, if someone feels afraid of a problem it can provoke them acting irrationally- eg blaming you when the problem is nothing to do with you (if he cant get it up, its because HE cant, you do not have control over his body, you are only a factor in it,).

I think it may be easier for him to blame someone else then think it is his issue. This is because if it is his issue then HE may have a problem and HE may need to accept that, which is hard for a guy- especially on something so important to him such as his ability to (as many men see it) "be a man".

You can HELP him to change his attitude, you can SUPPORT him in getting other medical help or whatever the doctor suggests, but you CANNOT change him all by yourself, only he can change himself- (hope that makes sense)!!

No matter what else happens, this is NOT your fault. Just remember that - this is not your fault.

To everyone who thinks that this is a laughing matter, or who feels that the only response here is a political one, BACK OFF.

This is a serious problem, indicative of a major cultural difference between your norm and that of some other places in the world. In fact, it is possible that this problem can have serious implications for the questioner, implications that in some cultures might endanger her life. It is not up to us to sit here and offer political or cultural advice that is relevant only to western societies. And it is certainly not our place to joke about this either.
