I'll do one, you can follow the pattern and do the other; in this way you will learn how to do them.

Y + X = 1 or Y = 1-X (subtract X from both sides)
3Y = X + 11

Substitute Y into second equation
3(1 - X) = x + 11
3 - 3X = X + 11 (subtract 11 from both sides, add 3X)
-8 = 4X
-2 = X
Therefore Y = 3 [since Y + X = 1]

Checking 3(3) = (-2) + 11 and we are correct.

E

y + x = 1 , then y=1 - X

3y = x + 11 then 3(1 - X) = x + 11

3 - 3x = x +11
3 = 4x +11
-8 = 4x
-8/4 = x
-2 =x Then y +(-2) = 1 then y = 3

F

y = 2x - 13

2y + x +6 =0

substitute y from first equation into second again

2(2x- 13) + x +6 =0 then solve for x

4x-26+x+6=0
5x-20=0
5x-20+20=+20
5x=20
5x/5=20/5
then x=4

Plug 4 into original equation

y = 2x+11
y =2(4)+11
y = 19

e.) First, take the first equation and solve for x:

y+x = 1 --------> x = 1-y

Second, replace x with what x= (1-y)

3y=x+11---------------> 3y = 1-y+11

Then, Solve for y:

>gather like terms: 3y= -y+12
> add y to both sides: 4y = 12
> divide both sides by 4: y = 3

Then, Put what y equals (y = 3) into your above x equals equation
(x = 1-y)

x = 1-3------------> x = -2
answer: (-2, 3)

f.) In this set of equations the first equation says that y = 2x-13 so you put
2x-13 in for y in the second equation:

2y+x+6 = 0 -----------> 2(2x-13)+X+6 = 0
Next, distribute the 2 into the perentices

2(2x-13)+X+6 = 0 ----------> 4x-26+x+6 = 0
Then, Add like terms

4x-26+x+6 = 0 -----------------> 5x-20 = 0
Next add 20 to both sides:

5x = 20
Then, divide both sides by 5:

x = 4
Now, but x into the first equation (y = 2x-13) and solve for y

y = 2(4)-13---------> y = -3

answer: (4,-3)

e)
y+x=1 or y = 1-x
3y=x+11 or x = 3y - 11

Substitute for 'y'
x = 3(1-x) - 11
x = 3 - 3x - 11
4x = - 8
x = -2

Substitute 'x' in either equations:
y = 1 - x = 1 - (-2) = 3

Therefore:
x = -2
y = 3

f)
y=2x-13
2y+x+6=0

2(2x-13)+x+6=0
4x-26+x+6=0
5x-20 = 0
x = 4

y=2x-13=2*4-13 = 8-13=-5

x=4, y = -5

e) x=-2
y=3

f) x=32/3, y= -25/3

I'm not too sure that these are correct but I'm too lazy to check, especially the second one. The first one I'm pretty sure of.
