If these pains are occuring close to or while you're on your period then they more than likely are. Different women get aches and pains in different places at times. While the lower abdomen is the typical location, you can have pain in other areas. My mother's upper legs ache while she is on hers, and I happen to have pains in the lower and middle abdomen like you do. Try taking a hot bath or using a heating pad on your stomache. If that doesn't do enough for you, you could try taking midol or other pain relievers. Hope that helps!

That is most likely period cramps. I get them in the upper and lower stomach, and they're around my period. If they are around your period, then they are probably period related. If you're not too sure, ask your mom, school nurse, or an older [female] sibling.

The following medicines help with period cramps/stomach pain:
Tylenol
Advil
Tums
Midol
Ibuprofen
and any other medications you normally use for that sort of thing.
Also, laying down can help your cramps. If you feel you need to, go to the school nurse, and lay a while. If you need "out" of gym, explain to the teacher you aren't feeling well in the stomach [you don't even have to say it's your period].
Good luck!

Sometimes, I have such a bad stomach ache, it feels like all of my abdomen is aching and I can't pin point the pain. If you are a little bit consipated which sometimes happens during your cycle this could make the middle of your tummy feel a bit bloated, sore and tender. I also get really heavy and aching legs and lots of other annoying symptons like headaches and tiredness. The best thing is to get on with things as normal but take a little time out to pamper yourself - a hot water bottle is very comforting!

Hello,
Oooh I sympathise with you! It's probably period cramps, but you should check it out with your doctor anyway. They'll be able to advise you how to cope with the monthly curse! Relax, lie down and try a hot water bottle for the time being :-)

We all get cramps in different places. Dont worry, if you are on a period, then they will more than likely be associated with that.

Hot water bottle will bring you more relief than any pain killer...

Nothing to worry about. I don't even get cramps, I get a bad head for a couple of days, instead. Just make sure you have a hot water bottle at hand!!! Really, it affects different people, different ways. xxx

When you get your period, the cramps you get are the result of your uterus twisting and turning to get the month layer of tissue out, its totally normal. i wouldnt worry about a thing, unless its unbearable, ex. Vomiting. Take some tylenol
