Nope and I came from Thailand and the Thais do not like to be touched or patted on the head. It is not polite in Thailand. However it is okay someplace else. Now I am in America and I do feel the same way, and I feel like I am a cute dog that everyone wants to pat on my head.

Personally, I find it condescending to be petted on the head, like they are making me smaller than themselves for knowing less about a certain subject.
