Yes, of course everyone is right. But in a multiplication problem, you retain the result if you halve one side while doubling the other or third one side while tripling the other, etc -- strictly multiplication or division (the same operation); it won't work with addition or square roots or whatever fancy stuff they may have devised.

In the current case, you might as well have 3 x 168, which is easier. If that's still a problem, try 3 x 160 or 6 x 80 = 480, then 3x8 = 24. Then add them together.
