A great way to look wide awake and make your eyes look brighter is to find a good white eyeshadow that sparkles a little (remember, just a little, not a lot). Brush that on your entire eyelid and up to your eyebrow, then use it to highlight between your eye and your nose, and then carefully line it around the bottom of your eye. Then use a neutral eyeshadow to slightly above the crease. Leave out the eyeliner as it will darken your eyes too much. Do a light layering of mascara (after you curl your eyelashes of course) and there you go! I use this in the mornings when I have to drag myself out of bed. That way I look awake but not too made up. Also good brushes are very important, and take care of them. They have to be cleaned about once a week to prevent build up. You can also use a primer or face balm to smooth your skin and help keep your foundation on (helps with oily skin as well). My favorite products are:
Face Balm: Dr. Feelgood by Benefit
Foundation: Bare Escentuals
Mascara: Just For Redheads or Bare Escentuals and Stila Major Lash mascara
Eyeshadow: any by Bare Escentuals although my white eyeshadow that I use was made by a friend
Eyebrow: Bare Escentuals eyebrow powder or Body Shop eyebrow pencil
Face Powder: Bluff Dust by Benefit

I haven't found a foundation that I'm pleased with yet since I have olive skin and no one makes a good match for me yet. Frustrating! Otherwise:
Eye make up: Urban Decay - most fantastic shadow (wet/dry), mascara on the market! They also make the potion stuff that you put on before your shadow to make it last longer, great stuff! http://www.urbandecay.com
Lipstick: Loreal, Jane (tastes yummy), Max Factor
Eyeliner: Physicians Formula Retro Glow liquid liner (or Urban Decay Shadow used wet)
Concealer: Physcians Formula Magic Cube or CoverTox Ten 50 (depending on the need) - Really they do ok, but I'm not completely satisfied with any I've tried :((
Brow Pencils: The Body Shop

well i know when your using any kind of eye shadow especially powder put some foundation on your eyelids where you are going to put the shadow .. not to much but just a little it helps it from wearing off faster and for my foundation i like to use clinique because it keeps your face from looking oily .. and i use covergirl LIQUID eyeliner it stays on alot longer and doesnt smear ..

MY FAVORITE TIPS:
-Layer your eyeshadow with different shades- a light one all the way to the crease, a meduim one to the crease, and a dark shade in the crease only.
-Go light with your mascara, it's better to avoid the gunky look.
MY FAVORITE BRANDS:
-Maybeline (I LOVE this brand- it works great, but is really inexpensive!)
-Clinique
-Lancome
