Definitely!
Southerners do tend to sign a bit more slowly than other signers from different of the united states. Southern Californians tend to be a bit more laid back, and in general, East coast signers sign WAY faster then West coast signers, especially those from New York. Washington D.C. the location of Gallaudet University, the only university in the world for deaf and hard of hearing students, is also often know for having distinct signs, and new vocabulary/slang often disseminates from there. There are "accents" associated with sign language. Sign language can vary quite a bit from region to region.
