I work for a woman who is a complete know-it-all. She loves telling EVERYONE what to do. It is her way or the highway. She doesn't realize how many people she offends on a daily basis. She works 7 days a week and thinks of crap to keep people busy. We all have our own jobs and enough to do. I don't really know what motivates her, but she is completely type A out of control. I just wonder if she ever looks in the mirror and wonders why the hell she is doing the crap she does. What a lonely life. She has about one friend, no other outside relationships, lives 3000 miles from her family and thrives and being the master of the universe on the job. AAAARRRGGGG!

GET OUT!! LOL. Just kidding. I worked with a woman like that for 4 years. She horned her way into the committee I was on that arranged fun things like bagels and cake days. Then she was never able to pick stuff up when it was her turn, and that sucked.

She thinks her opinion is the only one and she was there WAY longer than I was and o yea, also the office manager. In the time I was there she got married and had a baby--on top of a puppy, one of those mutt mixes people pretend are "breeds." A "Yorkie-poo," I believe. The puppy was never housebroken.

I learned to fake it. Became her little yes-person, then did it my own way whenever I could, w/o telling her. If she came by my desk and I was chit chatting, I cut the conversation off to get back to work and whenever she walked in the room I found a way to leave. Avoidance was my best friend and so was keeping my mouth shut and going with the flow. Eventually, I got another job with a $3K per year raise.

Best wishes if you should stay there.

If your boss is making you miserable, you need to look for alternatives. Can you transfer within your company? I would put your resume together and look for a better position in another company. I believe this is the answer because you are unlikely to change her or change yourself to make both of you happy.
