Sharapova has been having terrible trouble with her serve lately. I don't think the pressure got to her, but she has been in a semi slump lately. Sharapova made it to the final because she is still so much better than the rest of the field, even with a bum serve. Serena went into this tournament 81st because she was injured for the better part of last year, not because she was washed up and fat. If you recall one of her sisters was brutally murdered just over a year ago, so the slight weight gain she's had probably has been attributed to that. She is still an excellent player, no doubt about that and I am sure that even if Sharapova would have been 100%, Serena still would have beaten her(Serena has been in finals of majors many many times).

Serena had a lot to prove after being injured an playing at half spend for so long. Serena with her a game can and will be Maria at her best.....Sharopava took a real beating in every aspect of that match. she was over powered and her first and second serves were punished....

You thought wrong. I did think it would be a MUCH tougher contest. Not to minimze Williams' effort but Sharapova must have let the pressure get to her.
