Browsing through a car mag earlier and I was just thinking... some cars I find beautiful and some hideous, and I'm sure that some people find this totally opposite to my opinion... so lets hear your shout...
For starters here's mine...
AC Cobra - Despite being the car to start the 1st speed limit, beautiful design with a spitfire engine.
Dodge Viper - Huge baulking Yank car... but every now and then the Americans do make great cars... great speed, great design.
De Lorean - I see the raised eyebrows at this one... I have always found the De Lorean to be a fantastic looking car (despite the lack luster Ford V5 that went into most of them) to me, the car design just totally defines 80's design with what can sometimes (and some do) call a vision of the car of the future. Stark line, squared and the gull wing doors are (although totally inpractical) a totally iconic thing to the car.

Many apologies for the incorrect info on the V5, I am certain that the cobra had a spitfire engine in it though.
I drive a Jag, so eat my dust, lol

Ford GT!
Something to be said about a car that goes over 200mph and looks good doing it.

I have always had a soft spot for the most hated cars. I like Pintos and Edsels. The car I would love to own would be a 1969 fastback Mustang. I saw a pair of them on a calender once, and thought it was the nicest style of Mustang I have ever seen, especially when painted black. I also like the Shelby Cobra 427/SC and the 58-62 Corvette. I just wished the Corvette had come with the option of a 409 back then.
BTW, the A/C Cobra never came with a spitfire engine, but the A/C Ace may have. The Ace is what the Cobra was based on. Also the DeLorean never came with a Ford V5. It was powered by a V6 that was developed by Peugeot, Renault and Volvo. It was known as a PRV V6 and displaced 2.849L and rated at 130hp. Not trying to make you feel bad, just making sure you have all the facts. Take it easy!

Cobra....sweet car but impracticable unless on a track.
Viper....nothing more than a copy of an old Jag in modern style.
De Lorean...outside might of been nice but few have seen the inside. one ugly beast from head to toe, a pinto had more style for interior.
I work around cars in the custom paint sector now for 11 yrs and mainly deal with high line. I have driven just about everything out there but a McLaren. All the Porsche's, all the American Ferrari's, Lambo's, Jags, BMW, Lexus, Benz, Audi, blah blah the list goes on.
Sure some are sharp, some give you a woody when you look at them and others make you wet your pants when you step on them. But over all, all round car, every day driver but with enough kick in the pants to make you just smile from ear to ear. And can be taken out on the town, long trip, even onto the track.
99 and up Lexus GS model. I personally prefer the 2002 GS430 with Blackberry pearl on black leather, but that's me.

Is your Jag a type R? If not you will eat my dust!!!!!! Sorry, although my most desirable car was always the Ferrari Testarossa when younger. To drive it's the Noble M12 GTO, had one for a while and there was no better feeling than when I pulled up beside a Lambo Murcialgo (however it's spelt) at the lights, then saw it struggle to stay in my rear view mirror, and my car cost little more than 10% the price he paid for his!!!! Pity my partner parked it in a tree for me a few months ago really, still hurting from that now!!!!!!

Personally, I'm a big fan of the MINI Cooper. Other than that, I love the Lotus Elise.
And yeah, the De Lorean is really nice as well.

It would have been fun to snort lines in a De Lorean.
My favorite 80's car is a Ferrari 328, though.. Need to get me one of those.
