Ah, how delicious it is to ponder the imponderables. Is that called a metaphysical trunket? Or merely a cosmic junket?

I have a cookbook with an actual recipe for Elephant Stew.
1 Elephant, cut into 1 inch cubes
Carrots
Onions
Garlic
Salt and Pepper, to taste
2 Rabbits (optional)
Cut and brown your elephant into bite-size pieces. This should take about a month. In a very large pot, add all ingredients. Add enough water to cover the mixture. Cook for 1 month, stirring occasionally. The rabbits are optional, as not everyone likes hare in their stew.

Maybe the elephant was too big or too small, not the right color or type, and the owner was to embarrassed to take it back to the shop. That's whysomeone would throw away a perfectly good elephant.

I have no clue why someone would throw away a perfectly good elephant. Could be, they are tired of trying to train him to the elephant litter box...
