What country are you in?

In the US, it's a grad school program. And yes, the old saying is pretty true:

1st year, they scare you to death. It's like learning a new language, no one knows what the hell they're doing or if they're on the right track. Grades are based on one exam at the end of the semester, and it's usually an essay. Classmates are babbling all sorts of crap and you don't know if you're really behind or what.

2nd year, they work you to death. You're trying to up your class standing to get the best summer job you can. You're also trying to bulk up your resume by doing as many extra currics as you can. This is on top of the regular course load.

3rd year, they bore you to death. If you did things right, you've got a job offer already. Law school classes are old hat, so you're just cruising along. Even if you don't have a job, you've done this stuff before (in 2nd year) so it's easier to you.

The first year, you study 24/7
The second year you work your *** off...
Third Year, you 're busy looking to get a decent job, while doing engless projects and writing.

It's more scary than it is hard. It's actually 75% scary and 25% difficult.
