You have to be close to your missed period. I took pg test 4 days before period and clear as day positive. It detects hcg and is not detectable until a little later.

Pregnancy is normally detected about 2 weeks after conception, because the average woman oulates 2 weeks before her period is due. 1 week would be too early to test; you wouldn't have enough hcg in your urine to show up on a test. You don't have to wait until you've missed it, although that is when results are most accurate. Some tests, such as first response or clearblue, advertise that you can test 5 days before your missed period. If you get a negative before you miss your period, there's still a chance you may be pregnant and it just isn't showing up yet, but if you get a positive anytime, it's 99.5% accurate.

It depends on when conception took place. If ovulation was delayed or is normally later than Day 14 for a particular woman, she may even get a neg on a home pregnancy test the day she expects her missed period.

I've heard of women getting a faint pos about 10 days after conception (but these were all women who were charting and could positively pinpoint ovulaton). Usually it's best to jus wait the 2 weeks though. You can try to test earlier, even w/ the sensitive ones, but a neg result can be so stressful when you want to conceive. If you wait at least 2 weeks after ovulation, you can be more sure that the result on the HPT is accurate.

If you do chart, however, your basal body temperature can be a fairly reliable indicator of pregnancy even before an HPT.

It doesn't have to be after you miss your period but 1-2 days after conception is too early. The tests detect the HCG hormone in your urine. I believe the most sensitive test claims to give accurate results 5 days before your missed period. Good luck.

"many human beings" are incorrect, all they want to do is ask a medical specialist. that is conceivable to have a good being pregnant attempt 10 days after theory. notwithstanding, please do not ignore that no longer ALL women those who're pregnant will coach effective after 10 days. It also relies upon on how strong the attempt is. Being on the pill received't impression the outcome of a being pregnant attempt, because a attempt is searching for the presence of hCG. This hormone isn't protected contained in the pill, that is in user-friendly words produced by technique of the body when you're pregnant (or on fertility treatment, yet i'm assuming you aren't any further when you're taking the pill). keep in innovations notwithstanding that early testing can %. up a being pregnant that isn't honestly develop into achievable - those are widely used as "chemical pregnancies". See your healthcare specialist and get some extra suggestion and tips.

I don't think you have to wait until a missed period, a lot of pregnancy tests can give accurate results up to 5 days before your missed period.

6 days after conception/ovulation is the earliest, if you have the really early pregnancy tests. I had a very faint line 6 days afer. This was 8 days beforre my period was due, I will wait longer next time because it made my first trimester drag on forever!

My pregnancy tests didn't come up positive until days after I missed my period; I guess everyone is different though.
