meant to be friends...or not?

I once fell in love with him,and since we split years ago we have been really close,but every time we try to be just friends we end up developing feelings again,and i'm not sure they ever disppeared-they say your first love never dies anyway.We keep getting flung back together,but recently i did something and we fell out.he refused to talk to me until the other day.I just know i can't live without him...i dont want him as a lover,i have a guy fo that and he's amazing.i need him in some way,i cant have nothing,i know that much.can we ever have a normal friendship?why do we always end up falling for eachother again?

I think that you two truly love eachother. Why else would you feel the way your feeling? Maybe your meant to be with eachother. Wait a while, see if your feeling for him ever go away, or if you start liking someone else instead. If you don't, I think you two have something there.
And if he really likes you, he'll start talking to you again. Maybe you should try working things out with him?

speaking from experience (a couple of ways) I'd have to say no. I've tried, but it's like you said--when you start spend time together, you get the old feelings back. The best you can hope to do is accept that you are going to have the feelings and try your best to ignore the feelings, but that is one of the hardest things to do. You need more willpower and resolve than you ever thought possible. Good luck.

Chemistry. And sorry to say in some cases it is virtually impossible for two people to be "just friends". if the chemistry is really that strong the best chance is either to become lovers and develop that relationship or break it off entirely
