I was in the same position when I was 18. Instead of worrying about getting a job outside of your college, why not looking for one within the college? There are plenty of opportunities for student workers. There's also the Federal Work Study program where some college departments are paid through the government to hire students. I'm not sure what college you go to, but I went to school in the Bay Area, too, and I know for a fact that there are plenty of opportunities for students. It just depends on how hard you work to get out there and knowing what you want in life. Good luck!

just think what you want to do....a lot of ppl in college work at restaurants so if you are interested in that then go to different places and some might have a sign that they are hiring or you can just ask. also if you know any relatives or parents you can ask them if they need any help at work. You can also try babysitting (look on craigslist.com and sittercity.com for ppl that need a babysitter).

try working at a restaurant as a waiter or cook whatever you would prefer....restaurants are very flexible with school schedules and you can make graet money....waititng tables will give you cash in your pocket every day.....if this is what you decide to do then just tell them you have experience....they usually dont hire waiters without experience.....trust me it wont matter...there gonna have to train you anyway they just like to hear you have done it before....its a great job to have while going to school

this may sound odd... but go to the welfare dept. there. to get on food stamps ect. (and i'm not saying to apply) you have to get a job. most ppl need job training and there usually is a free job training center they can direct you to. and it will work w/ you since you're in college!!!
