Well, I have a GCN that's 2 years old, and now whenever I want to play it, it dies out! I think it's the cord that hooks up in the back that turns into the output. Is there anything I can do? I would like to keep it even though I'm getting a Wii.

It most likely is the cord, I've seen it before at my gamestop store I used to work at. Try replacing it. A replacement should cost no more than $10.
