I used to bartend, and now I am working behind a desk all day making a rich man richer. Really need a change but gotta pay the bills.

Join a company that does network marketing. Get to see lots of people, do it on your own schedule, end up making good residual income... Of course I recommend the one I'm in, but there are many out there that might fit your taste if it doesn't. Check it out if you like.

If you already have experience making rich men richer, work for yourseslf and become a financial planner (CFP). You can take classes online in your spare time. Otherwise, if you really want flexibility, work for a place like Starbucks to get health insurance and start your own business. My other suggestion would be to go back to school for something you enjoy, perhaps counseling. Counselors have a lot of job satisfaction, flexible hours and their jobs are surprisingly similar to bartending.

Check out the National Occupations Code book to find out what jobs make use of the skills you already have or can easily obtain.

Check out Job Futures website to find out more information about your prospective career choices.

Do information interviews with people who work in the field(s) that you think you would like to work in. Find out how they got started and what skills employers are looking for.

Go to your local employment centre or college/university to find out what services they offer to help you find meaningful work and any government-funded training that is available.

Read the book, "I could do anything if only I knew what it was" by Barbara Sher.

If you know of someone in a management position, ask them to have a look at your resume. See if they have any suggestions where you can apply your skills. If they are not hiring where this person works, they may know of other companies that are hiring. Networking is the best way to find work you want to do.
