Someone I know wishes that he would have asked for her not to move more than 250 miles away from him. She moved 17 hours away and he can not see his children every other weekend. Even summer visits are hard, with all the childrens activities. She ask for the divorce, not him.

Divorce decrees are as different as that marriages they end. Either settle your monetary, property, custody issues and have them stipulated in the divorce or be careful to thoroughly inventory everything in your life. I do think that having the former's name revert back is a good idea, unless children are in volved.

More money, funds started away for kids college education.
Now he is broke and can't help me with my kids college. He is on his 3rd marriage with more kids. I really wished I had him put half of what ever the estimate college cost would be into a college fund years ago we have been divorced sine 1989.

I WOULD HAVE MY CHILD SUPPORT REDUCED AND I WOULD HAVE HER TAKE CARE OF THE INSURANCE FOR MY KIDS INSTEAD OF HER BITCHING ABOUT EVERY FREAKING INSURANCE CARRIER I CHOOSE.
