I love Southern accents, Virginia, N.Y.C. is interesting but people from the windy city have the most annoying accent I have ever heard. It's such a nassally irritation to listen too I want to scream.
Where does this come from...anyone know?

I am a native Texan living in Wisconsin and yes, I think the accent it annoying. But, I'm sure people think my Southern accent is annoying too.

If SNL used to make fun of the Chicago accent, why do you find it annoying now? For a whiny nasally just downright irritating accent, go to New England.

SNL had it roots in Chicago, a lot of those guys come out of Second City. I'm glad I don't have to hear your voice.
