Checked out thesaurus in the thesaurus, and another word for thesaurus, is Lexicon :-)

Since you asked for another word, not words, "book of synonyms" won't work (though it's a good definition). But there are one-word subsitutes.

Actually, "thesaurus" has two meanings, so there are different answers:

For meaning #1. "A book of synonyms, often including related and contrasting words and antonyms"

synonym = "synonymicon" (or you might use a 'brand name', e.g., "look it up in your Roget's" just as you might use "Webster's" as a general term for dictionary)

For meaning #2, "A book of selected words or concepts, such as a specialized vocabulary of a particular field, as of medicine or music"

synonym: "lexicon"
