They will eat flakes too. It is probably still aclaimating to its new home.

Catfish are generally voracious and WILL eat almost anything when its ready!

PS: Sounds like a Pimodella Catfish.

Catfish generally fall into 2 groups. The scavengers who have downward facing whiskers. The predators who have outward facing whiskers. The predators tend to limit themselves to fish that fit in their mouths.

The scavengers will generally feed off food that falls to the bottom of the tank, and prefer to feed at night. Generally these guys won't feed during the day unless they aren't getting enough scraps. They will eat sinking pellets, but aren't fond of algae wafers. Pellet should be dropped in just before lights out.

The predatory catfish will eat things off the bottom, but prefer live food. Sinking pellet will work. They will also eat ghost shrimp, and fry. (Mine eat molly fry, and ghost shrimp in addition to sinking pellets.)
