I am now 48 and I have suffered with excessively sweaty hands since I was a child. Throughout school and most of my adult life I have been fearful of being in a social situation which required my hands to make contact with someone else. Sweaty hands is a medical condition called palmer hyperhidrosis. There are several types of treatment available. There is a surgical procedure that can be done, but I was never comfortable with the idea of surgery. My doctor told me that the surgery would prevent my hands from sweating at all and that can be problematic, too. There is also a medication for milder forms, but my hyperhidrosis was more severe for that nor did using baby powder or deodorant on my hands work. I am fortunate that I do not have excessive sweating in my arm pits, but I do have some trouble with sweaty feet. It was only about 5 years ago that I got up enough courage to mention my sweaty hands problem to my doctor. I played piano in junior high and high school and dreaded lesson days because my piano teacher was always shaking her head over my sweaty hands and handing me tissues to wipe up. I was so nervous about piano recitals that twice she held them at her home with the students playing in the piano room and the parents sitting in her living room. Ask your doctor about possible solutions. There are options available. I do not have as much sweat now. I am not sure why, if it subsides with age or what. I sympathize with you and know how frustrating the condition is.

unfortunatly i have no idea what you can do about your hands... i get like that too all the time. some tricks i try are to take my shoes and /or socks off... that allows my body to cool off a good bit. about the underarms, well usualy a doctor can give you an anti- persperant but if your like me it doesnt work. you can get botox. below is a link to the web site and some information on what they do durring the procedure

I had perspiring problems my whole life too. (I'm a 23y/o female) and I know EXACTLY how you feel. It's so embarassing. I went to my doctors and got Drysol for my armpits. I will warn you, this stuff hurts and stings, bad. And it can be really itchy. Didn't stop it 100%( I stopped taking it bc it hurt too much) but it helped A LOT. Other alternatives are surgical, if it's really bad. Good luck with everything!!!

This condition is called HYPERHYDROSIS - excessive sweating (there is nothing wrong with sweating it is more of a modesty issue). You can look it up on WebMd.com for more information.
It is a somewhat common condition that can now be corrected surgically or you can deal with it topically. I also heard of new oral medications that can reduce the sweating response. Good Luck!

My roommate in college had this issue. Meds should help, but he also used a lot of anti-persperant. Not only did he use under his arms, but he rubbed it on his hands too. Not sure if that is the best answer, but it worked for him! Good luck!

I dated a girl whose hands were like yours and I thought it was great. I was worried too that she would be thinking about it. But it was great feedback.
If I had to marry someone with one date and your hands were sweating I would give it high consideration.

My friend Brittany had the same problem, and it got really bad. They found out that she had some kind of problem with her glands. She went in for a simple surgery to cut one of the glands by her shoulder, and the problem was fixed ever since.
