I am 21 years old, and I work as a receptionist. I did very good in high school, but I dropped out of college after a couple semesters. I feel like I am stuck at a dead end job. I have no room for advancement. I would like to go back to school, but I am limited to night classes since I work 8-5 Monday-Friday. Also, Tuesday and Thursday evenings are unavailable. Does anyone have suggestions? I have considered Dental, Massage Therapy, Medical billing. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Most jobs understand about school, and will work with you, so long as you're willing to work weekends.

Try and get another schedule. It would really be worth it to get more training, or specialized training in a field.
Also, try work study programs at your college, that way you can work and get experience and credits at the same time.
If all else fails, try online classes at your college. Make sure it is a good school, because some online classes come from colleges that don't have good accreditation.

I unearthed the site in the box below for the last month when I was looking for a new career. I was in a dead-end job but I wasn't sure what I really wanted to do or how to get there. The instruction on the site helped me to settle on my new career, and gave me some excellent ideas about how to start.

I am a massage therapist and I really like it. If you have your own practice and learn good marketing skills you can do extremely well. Also, you get to really help people which is rewarding. Most massage schools have classes at night and on the weekends. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Network Marketting. It's a good way to start making money quickly, flexible scheduling (you make your own), and can be done while you still work the dead end job until it replaces your income. Then you have residual income coming in and will have time to go to school for whatever you truly want to do, without having to worry about money.

I was able to get my associates degree in business management by only going at night, on the weekends and the occasional online class. Colleges are becoming more and more workable for the 'nontraditional' student. Right now I'm working on my bachelors degree - only at night.

Use the receptionist position to get yourself into a big company or government agency. These offer advancement opportunities and tuition reimbursement for college classes.

any of those would be fine, but have you considered a para-legal position? it should fit into your schedule and there is a lot of room for advancement
